Thematic focus
The aim of the doctoral program:
- To train doctoral students as highly skilled scientists capable of independent research in the public sector of higher education and research in Biology and Health sciences or as scientifically-trained professionals who will valorize their competences in a non-academic context.
- To provide a stimulating academic environment for advanced multi-disciplinary training in basic biological and biomedical research, applied clinical research, medically-related technological innovations and Public Health research.
Major research topics are focused on:
- Glycobiology: biosynthesis and signaling,
- Gene regulation and Cancer,
- Neurosciences and Neurodegenerative diseases,
- Diabetes, Metabolic diseases and Cardiovascular diseases,
- Infection diseases and Immunology
- Drugs, Biotherapies, Nutrition, Environment, Physical activities and rehabilitation.

You are a Masters Student
If you wish to join the Graduate Programme at PhD level, consult the thesis offers published by the Biology and Health Sciences Doctoral School (from February 2024, please visit the dedicated Adum page and contact the relevant thesis director .
If the subject is offered for competitive examinations at the Biology-Health Doctoral School, you will prepare for it with your future thesis director.
- International competition (end of April 2024, only for overseas students)
- Grand jury competition (end of May 2024)

You are a PhD student
As a PhD student at the Biology and Health Sciences Doctoral School, if your thesis subject has been approved by the Graduate Programme:
You will be able to benefit from specific support built in consultation with the Doctoral School, which will allow you to better build your professional career. This support is structured around three components:
- International mobility (for example, you will be able to respond to specific calls for projects allowing you to achieve international mobility during your doctorate)
- Interdisciplinarity ( you will be able to participate to specific seminars and events organized by the Graduate Programme).
- Preparation for your professional integration (specific support with regard to your future career will be offered).
You will be able to get a diploma supplement highlighting your membership in the Graduate Programme at the end of the three years of the thesis and to the extent that you have fulfilled the three criteria (international mobility, interdisciplinarity, preparation for professional integration).
