The prerequisites for joining one of the master’s courses depend on the specific course. You will find more information on the dedicated pages for each course on the University of Lille website.

Students applying for one of the master’s courses (M1 or M2) can also apply for Fellowships. M1 students already registered on one of the courses can also apply for Fellowship if they wish to move on to the second year.

This will depend on the individual master’s course. Students are invited to contact the head of the programme for more information. The academic year also includes lectures, practicals and one or more traineeships (3 to 6 months).

A fast track towards PhD level based on early detection and the selection of master’s students willing and able to pursue research is available in each graduate programme.

At both master’s and PhD level, the graduate programmes are designed to train the protagonists and leaders of the academic, socio-economic, industrial and biotechnological worlds of the future.

Each year the graduate programmes issue calls for mobility grant applications.

You can apply if:

• you are registered a master’s course that falls under one of the 4 graduate programmes
• and plan to do a traineeship abroad
• you are a PhD student on the graduate programme and would like to organise a research trip abroad as part of your thesis (not including conferences)

According to the national student union in France, in 2023 students based in Lille had average living costs of €1000, with average monthly rent of €495. Students may be eligible for certain social benefits (CROUS, CAF).

Master applications and Fellowship applications are two different things : 

1️⃣ You must apply for the Master's degree of your choice (see the list of Master's degrees available in each Graduate Programme). The Master's application process depends on your profile. For more information, check the Master track application page 

                 The first application corresponds to your administrative registration at the University of Lille in the Master's programme of your choice. This application will be assessed by the head of the Master's programme and is independent of the Graduate Programme.

2️⃣ If you wish to apply for Graduate Programme scholarships, you must apply separately to the call for Fellowship via our application portal. Find more information on the call schedule and eligibility criteria and the link to the application platform on Fellowships page 

                 The second application correspond to the Graduate Programme Fellowship and  is assessed by the Graduate Programme Committee. 

                 If you are accepted for a Graduate Programme Fellowship you'll be notify directly by the Graduate Programme with an official letter.

                 Please note that the Fellowship depends on your acceptance to the Master's programme. If you are not accepted, you will not be eligible for the scholarship.

/!\ We recommend that students who wish to benefit from the scholarship apply to the calls for scholarships, even if they have not yet received notification of their acceptance to the Master's programme.
